MV 裡是女生受到男生家暴，但歌詞裡寫的施暴者是女生，很巧妙的道出暴力會發生在不同性別的人身上，而施暴的人也不見得都是男性。

歌詞裡的一方，即使受到肢體和言語暴力，卻還是愛著對方，在對方說愛自己時，一切罪過好像都可以被原諒，以此麻痺自己，但是這樣的愛不值得，也不健康，必須要尋求幫助、離開那個人。而 MV 最後出現 #faceuptodomesticviolence ，呼籲大家正視家暴議題。

MV 裡面應該是一對夫妻，並且育有一個孩子，而女方為了維護家庭選擇隱忍丈夫的暴力。女主角是 Soairse Ronan，曾演出《淑女鳥》、《她們》、《默愛》、《贖罪》等電影。她和創作這首歌的 Hozier 一樣都是愛爾蘭人。
