boygenius 成立於2018年，是由三人組成的搖滾樂團，成員分別是 Phoebe Bridgers、Julien Baker 和 Lucy Dacus，團名的由來很有趣，這三個人過去都遇過某類型的男生，他們從小就被灌輸自己是天才，這樣的男生有著過人的自信，引人發笑，本來是以此為玩笑，但後來卻變成樂團的名字，團員也會以此鼓勵彼此，對自己的想法感到懷疑時，就叫對方做個 boy genius，展現過人的自信。三人在成團之前都已經有自己的音樂事業，但因為彼此都互相喜歡對方的音樂，因緣際會下順利成立樂團。

boygenius 在2018年發布首張同名錄音室專輯《boygenius》，三人只花了四天就完成詞曲及錄製，而第二張專輯《the record》於2023年發行，三人以此專輯拿下葛萊美最佳另類音樂專輯，而其中〈Not Strong Enough〉這首歌則為三人贏得最佳搖滾歌曲和最佳搖滾表演，在2024年 boygenius 共拿下三項葛萊美獎項。（Phoebe 個人則是一共拿下四座）
